Genetic Testing
Due to the age at which I've been diagnosed (45) and the fact that I have a family history of breast cancer (my mom), the surgeon recommended genetic testing.
Several genes are connected to breast cancer, BRACA 1 & BRACA2 being the most common. The one I'm most curious about is CDH1, as it poses a higher risk of the particular breast cancer I have (invasive lobular carcinoma).
