Meeting with the Breast Surgeon
On our way to the breast surgeon appointment, my updated pathology with the biomarkers came back: Estrogen +, Progesterone +, and HER2-. These biomarkers give the medical team a better understanding of how to treat the cancer.
After meeting with the breast surgeon at Sibley, we have a "road map" for treatment:
1. Chemotherapy
2. Surgery (Double Mastectomy)
3. Radiation

She also put in orders for more tests, scans, and better imaging to rule out distant growth (metastatic cancer).
